Whilst I’m trying to not be fan of their food too much, there is something slightly eerie in the thought that if you lit up each outlet, from space you could see the full outline of the US based on the national penetration of McDonald’s.

And for those that are on a diet, you need to go to the Dakotan hamlets of Meadow and Glad Valley, South Dakota, which is 154 miles from the nearest of 13,000 US outlets.
