Management changes at Wax Communications
A new management team is in place at Wax Communications after the departure of joint managing partner Roger Marriott a month ago. Sam Jordan, the other joint managing partner, has taken on the combined role of managing director alongside other director-level appointments.
Wax was formed in September through the merger of agencies Catalyst, Dynamo and Theatre, with Marriott, the former boss of Dynamo, and Jordan, managing director of Catalyst, sharing the job of managing partner. Wax announced the appointment of Rod Geoghegan, who has 20 years of international marketing experience, as marketing director and new board member. He most recently ran digital strategy agency Metropolis. His role will include leveraging the success of Wax’s cause-related marketing work which has included Sainsbury’s Active Kids. Geoghegan said:
“Wax is the product of two recognised and successful agencies who have brought together their complementary expertise and talent to create a force to be reckoned with. It has a great list of blue-chip clients including United Biscuits, Sainsbury’s and Johnson & Johnson and a strong and very experienced team doing great work. The agency has plenty of exciting plans in the pipeline and I look forward to playing a part in its future success and growth.”
Wax this month also announced the appointment of marketing strategist Helen Haider as client services director from Momentum. She has senior brand, trade and category management experience working client and agency side with high-street names such as Disney, Warner Bros, Hasbro, Mattel, HMV, and Energizer. Her career highlights include extending the Monopoly franchise beyond the traditional streets of London and launching the first gay Action Man. She has taken leading roles in forecasting, planning, marketing communications, promotional campaign management, strategy and relationship building for many of the world’s leading brands.
